37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2011 - List of Winners

Seven (7) movie entries were judged at the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal (Awards Night) at the Resorts World Performing Arts Theater on December 28, 2011. Ai-Ai delas Alas, John Estrada, and Richard Gomez hosted the big event with Iza Calzado who performed a special dance number as a tribute to her late father, Lito Calzado.

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, December 18 2011, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 p.m., Tropical Storm "SENDONG" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 410 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City (10.3°N,114.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West at 24 kph. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon.

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, December 17, 2011, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm "SENDONG" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 220 km West of Dumaguete City (9.2°N,121.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West at 24 kph.

Nominees for Various Professional Regulatory Boards (December 14, 2011)

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in compliance with Section I, Article II of Executive Order No. 496, Series of 1991, which reads: “The Commission shall, upon receipt of the resolution from the accredited professional organization, immediately publish the same in a newspaper of general circulation for the purpose of inviting anyone who may have derogatory information against any of the nominees which may render him unfit for the position to inform the said Commission within a period of ten (10) days from such publication xxx”, hereby publishes the names of the nominees.

Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Bills in Congress

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) may soon become mandatory once the pending bills on mandatory CPE filed are approved by Congress. This development Congressman Rufus B. Rodriguez disclosed during a seminar on amendments of the various professional regulatory laws held at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City on November 23, 2011. In said seminar, he also cited the need for an action plan to fast track the passage of amendatory bills of several professional regulatory laws filed in Congress.

December 2011 Dentist Licensure Examination Results

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces on December 12, 2011 that 239 out of 601 passed the Dentist Licensure Examination (Written Phase) and 239 out of 246 passed the Dentist Licensure Examination (Practical Phase) given by the Board of Dentistry in Manila last November 2011 and December 2011 respectively.
