The 6TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION STUDENTS OF THE PHILIPPINES with its theme this year of “Important Contribution of Mass Media in Nation Building",” was held last August 7, 2011 at the AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

COMGUILD Center for Journalism bestowed awards for this year's most prominent news program, anchors and reporters. Among the awardees were GMA-7's 24 Oras as the first ever Best News Program, Arnold Clavio as Best Entertainment Show Host for his program "Tonight with Arnold Clavio " in GMA News TV and Jiggy Manicad as Best Male Field Reporter for the 3rd time (see video here).

Philippine Dragon Boat Team Wins 5th Gold Medal


Even in times of hardship, the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) remains committed to bring honor to the country. Once again, the Philippine Dragon Boat Team on Sunday won in the 500-meter in the Men's Division Small Boat Event and bagged its 5th Gold Medal at the International Dragon Boat World Championships in Tampa, Florida, defeating teams from Puerto Rico, Australia, Italy, and Japan.

Aside from the gold medals received, they also wins 2 silver medals in different divisions.
