Her last pose for the said magazine was in 2006 and now she will cooks up a storm  for the 2nd time around. She was Rank 46 on this year's FHM Philippines’ Sexiest Woman in the World (see link).

GMA-7 Bags Silver and Bronze Awards in the 32nd Annual Telly Awards (2011)

The Kapuso Network bagged a Silver Award (Film/Video Winner) for "Planet Philippines": Nature/Wildlife Category. 

A Bronze Awards (Film/Video Winner) was given also to GMA-7's Art Angel " National Children's Book Day": Children Category, Reporter's Notebook "Huling Hantungan", Saksi "Vizconde Massacre" and 24 Oras "Super Typhoon Juan" under News or News Feature Category. 

The Telly Award is an award presented by the namesake, New York City-based organization. The stated purpose of the award is to "honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web (Wikipedia).

Facebook Video Calling - Talk to Your Friends Face to Face (How to Install and Use)

Earlier today, Facebook announced the integration of Video Calling, Group Chat and a new Chat design. With face-to-face video calling, now you can watch your friends smile, wink and LOL.

Just this night, GMA-7's 24 Oras telecast and tried to use these new features enhanced by Facebook and powered by Skype and its quite amazing.

"Over the last year, the messages team has been working to make it easier to have one on one conversations with your friends. In November, we launched the new messages, which brings together your chats, texts, emails and messages all in one place", Philip Su said in his post in The Facebook Blog just today, July 7, 2011.

He is so excited to introduce video calling and other improvements to chat.

To get started, visit http://www.facebook.com/videoc​alling. Click the "Get Started" button, then a new window will pop-up and follow the on-screen manual to download the installer (see screenshot below).

After installation is completed, you can now call your friends for a try and to instantly give them access to Video Calling. In your updated chat-box, select your online firiend to chat, click the video sign (see screenshot below) to make a video call. Your friend will be notified that there is someone asking him for a video chat. If no answer from your friend, you can also leave a video message.

2011 White Cane Safety Day Theme

DepEd Memo No. 147, s. 2011:

2011 WHITE CANE SAFETY DAY

White Cane Safety Day is a national observance in the Phillipines, celebrated on August 1 of each year. The date is set aside to instill public awareness of the plight of the blind, promote recognition and acceptance of the white cane as a symbol of the need of visually impaired individuals for specific assistance, and remind every Filipino of the duty to care for and accord due respect to the sight-impaired.

In the latest memo from the Department of Education (DepEd), the 22nd White Cane Safety Day Celebration in the Philippines will be observed on August 1, 2011, in pursuant to the Republic Act No. 6759, entitled the "White Cane Safety Day".

This year's theme is..."Baston, Gabay sa Tuwid na Daan." which supports the efforts of President Benigno S. Aquino III on good governance.

The celebration is the first activity of the Sight Saving Month Celebration in August and it aims to:

a. stimulate public awareness on the rights and welfare of blind persons;
b. promote recognition and acceptance of the white cane as a symbol of mobility for blind persons;
c. promote and protect the physical, moral and social well-being of blind persons; and
d. serve as a vehicle of information on the program being implemented by the government and non-government organizations that adhere to the promotion of the welfare of visually impaired persons.

The White Cane Inter-Agency Committee with the DepEd as lead agency concurred that the celebration will be done on August 1-6, 2011. Many activities will be undertaken during the celebration in the regional, division and school levels as stipulated in the memo.

Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker 2011 Highest Paid Actresses in Hollywood

Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker

Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker, with annual earnings of $30 million (£18.6 million) each, are the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, according to Forbes.com annual list.

Jolie topped the Forbes.com because of the worldwide success of her action film "Salt," which brought about $300 million, and "The Tourist," which also featured Johnny Depp which earned $280 million at the worldwide box office.

Much of Sarah Jessica's great earnings comes from the reruns of the hit television show "Sex and the City", which she starred in and produced. Other than that, her hefty earnings comes from the second movie which generated $290 million at the worldwide box office.

To compile their earnings, numbers were talked from different agents, lawyers, producers and other industry insiders to come up with an estimate for what each actress earned between May 1, 2010 and May 1, 2011. Earnings consist of pretax gross income. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the 3rd Rank were not far behind in the rankings with each actress with annual earnings of about $28 million.

Last year's top earner, Sandra Bullock, who took a 12-month break from making movies was dropped only to No.9 with earnings of $15 million.

2011 Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa Theme

Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2011

The Department of Education (DepEd) last year's theme for Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa had focused on the promotion of the national language and environmental protection.

Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa is celebrated during the month of  August per the provision of Presidential Decree 1041, series of 1997, as declared by former President Fidel Ramos.

This year's theme is..."Ang Filipino ay Wikang Panlahat, Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas" focuses on the following purposes:

a. to carry out the duties as prescribed by KWF in Section XIV, Letter L of the Republic Act No. 7104;

b. fully implement the Proclamation No. 1041 of the President of the Philippines;

c. demonstrate to the people the importance of visualizing the national language and its history on the 75th anniversary of the KWF;

 
d. motivate the Filipinos to participate in the essay writing contest in Filipino language.

e.  re-assess and measure in performing the implementation of Executive Order No. 335, and

 
f. hold the  language conference with the purpose of updating the knowledge and language issues.

The month-long  celebration is divided into five weekly topics and are as follows:

Andrea Torres - Guest Host on 24 Oras' Chikka Minute

Andrea Torres, a lovely TV Host who was part of a youth oriented show of Kapuso Network's "Ka-Blog" is now hosting this week's episodes of 24 Oras' Chikka Minute. It was several times without seeing Pia Guanio on Chikka Minute. Just recently, Luane Dy and Grace Lee have been the guest host of such segment of 24 Oras and now Andrea Torres whose hosting skill is really great and undeniable is in.

Andrea who signed an three-years exclusive contract with GMA-7 last March 8, 2011 showed her acting skills already in movies like Shake Rattle and Roll and You To Me Are Everything. She  also appeared as commercial model for Chowking, Nescafe and Eskinol.

Kapamilya Star Angel Locsin and Askals' Player Phil Younghusband are the new endorsers of Century Tuna. This is their first TVC together where they are showing their fit and sexy bodies off.

The said TVC began airing this week and is expected to be promoted heavily in the following weeks especially that the Philippine Azkals won the game against Sri Lanka Brave Reds on today's game, July 3, 2011 (see link).

Philippine Azkals Defeated Sri Lanka Brave Reds - Final Score at Fulltime: 4-0; Aggregate 5-1

Despite the rain which started pouring at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila at the start of the first half until midway through the second half, Philippine Azkals defeated Sri Lanka Brave Reds today, July 3, 2011 in the First Round, Leg 2 (Game 2), of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Azkals versus Brave Reds game result - final score at Full Time: 4-0; Aggregate 5-1. The Philippine Azkals will play against Kuwait in the next round on July 23 and July 28, 2011.

1. INDULGE

There’s nothing wrong with doing the things you love, especially if they make you happy and inspire you to improve your quality of living. For example, Marian doesn’t scrimp when it comes to mealtimes, preferring not to diet because she believes she needs sustenance to get her through her hectic schedule. She’s a hearty eater who loves rice, and she’s not afraid to order extra servings! “Sana walang magagalit sa akin. Pero totoo talaga, kumakain ako ng dapat at ng gusto kong kainin (I hope no one gets angry, but it's true. I eat right, and I eat what I want),” she says.

2. PUSH YOURSELF

In order to make sure you experience as much as you can in life, let go of your fears and push yourself to do things you might never have imagined yourself doing otherwise. Marian doesn’t allow complications to make her pass any opportunities by. Instead, she uses the challenges to keep learning and become better at her craft. She’s learned swimming and diving for Dyesebel, wushu for Darna, and now arnis for Amaya—all things she knew nothing about before training for her shows.

3. DO WHAT YOU LOVE

Getting stressed at work is natural, but if you love what you do, you decrease your chances of feeling burdened. Marian shares great advice she got from her father when it comes to this: “As long as nag-e-enjoy ka sa work at alam mong tama yung ginagawa mo, go ka lang. Pero pag nararamdaman mo na hindi ka na happy, stop na (As long as you're enjoying your work and you know what you're doing is right, just keep doing it. But as soon as you feel unhappy, stop)!” The advice is simple, but it works. The more you enjoy what you’re doing, the less it feels like work and the better you will be at it.

4. STRIVE TO BE MORE INDEPENDENT

While having a support group is vital, learning to rely on yourself is also important. For example, Marian lives by herself and does her own housework, preferring to do everything herself rather than having a helper at home. “Feeling ko kasi, du’n ko nararanasan ’yung parang normal na tao. Kapag nasa taping ako, sobrang pina-pamper ako. So pagdating sa bahay, ’eto ’yung mundo ko! ’Eto ako! Ako, mag-mo-mop. Ako, mag-va-vacuum (I feel like I experience being a normal person at home. When I'm on set, they pamper me. At home, it's my world, and I get to be who I am. I mop. I vacuum).”

5. DON’T HURRY LOVE

Marian says the key to the success of her relationship with Dingdong is the fact that they both go with the flow. They laugh about it when rumors abound that they’re getting married, knowing that only they can decide when they feel it’s the right time to settle down. “Kaya siguro kami magkasundo ni Dong kasi walang nag-iipitan, walang pressure na gusto ko ganitong date ha. Enjoy lang kami (I think Dingdong and I work because we don't pressure each other to have certain dates. We just enjoy ourselves). Go with the flow. Kung talagang kami, kami. Kung hindi, eh, kami pa rin (If we're meant to be together, we will be. If not, it's still going to be us)!”
